Eclipse Season is finally coming to an end with the Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Taurus. Conjunct restless Uranus, this is a time of major change, especially when it comes to the circumstances and people that we may have taken for granted or gotten too comfortable with. So, expect sudden removals of these people or situations – it’s the Universe’s way of clearing the decks, even if we don’t like it or weren’t prepared for it.
Seeing as Eclipses aren’t really a great time to do rituals (the energy is just too intense, with many Karmic doorways being flung open), our Full Moon instructions here are a whole lot gentler and focused on grounding rather than manifesting or releasing. So, let’s get started!
Here’s what you’ll need for this ritual:
- An outside area, such as under a lovely big tree or in your garden. Somewhere where you can be (mostly) alone, or at least have a bit of space
- A picnic blanket, cushion, or anything else to make you feel comfortable
- A little picnic basket with a few snacks and drinks
- Journal & pen
- Incense and/or quiet music
Step One:
Find your special spot and create a safe space for yourself. Light your incense, and maybe play some music as you settle yourself in to do this gentle ritual. The purpose of it is to help ground and clear your energy in what could be a very unpredictable and crazy time.
With this in mind, take a few moments to tune into how you may be feeling. Notice your breath. See it as it comes in and out in your body. Feel your feelings – are they anxious, excited, fearful, hopeful? Notice your thoughts – where are they going right now?
Step Two:
Once you feel like you’ve taken a moment to breath, you can choose to do this standing up or sitting down. Standing up tends to be better, as there’s a more noticeable effect. If standing, dig your bare feet deeply into the earth, slightly apart and imagine a current of light / electricity running from deep in the earth, up through your two legs and up your body. Now, imagine it going down, back through your body and your legs and out through your feet.
Do this for a minimum of 30 minutes, even if you feel restless. The longer you do it, the better. You can close your eyes, meditate in the distance, and visualize this current of earth energy grounding, stabilizing and nourishing you.
If sitting, you do the same thing, but perhaps imagine the energy running from your spine into the ground, then up and through your whole body.
Notice any sensations that come up – maybe there’s some tingling or energizing sensations, or perhaps something else.
Step Three:
Once you’ve come to the end of your grounding ritual, you can take a seat and simply just rest for a moment, savoring the sensations. When you feel like you’ve soaked it all up, pick up your pen and journal and write down any thoughts that could have come up for you. Maybe you want to write things down that you need to release out of your life in some way.
After you're done, enjoy some grounding food and drink and simply take a well-deserved rest.
